You are more important than your diabetes
You are in control
My role is to listen to your beliefs, motivations and preferences so that clinical decisions are shaped around who you are, not your diagnosis

The focus is on you. The purpose is to make sure you make the clinical decisions with your GP or specialist provider armed with knowledge and confidence
Building communities of shared knowledge and skills. We explore lifestyle goals and strategies, medication pearls and technology
For nurses, carers, education and childcare workers.
Customised training of staff to give you confidence to engage with your clients living with diabetes
Diabetes Self-Management puts you in control. It ensures you make decisions with your GP or specialist provider having had opportunity to consider what impacts on your life
I will identify your strengths and help you in the following key areas:
There is a well known phenomenon called ‘Therapeutic Inertia’. This happens when your healthcare team does not change treatment plans in response to your circumstances.
This leaves you exposed to potential complications or may overlook opportunities to reduce the burden of management.
I provide the time for you to explain your status and goals so that you and your doctor can adjust therapy
Your GP provides the best service possible, but our healthcare system does not provide enough time for the personal approach you will receive with me.
It is also not possible for your GP to stay fully informed about new diabetes management strategies. It is evolving extremely quickly.
